Fishing Show Calendar for 2013 - 2014
This is a listing of fly fishing and outdoor shows that are available through October 2014.Most of the shows in the list offer fly fishing related presentations, demonstrations and exhibits by local, regional and nationally known personalities. Manufacturers and retailers of fly fishing products and services generally attend these shows to exhibit and sell their products and services. There are lots of opportunities at these shows to learn about fly fishing and outdoor related activities. Be sure to visit some of these shows this season and don’t forget to support their important fundraising efforts.

Western Canadian Fly Fishing Exposition
January 24 – 26, 2014
Location: Spruce Meadows Equiplex, Calgary, Alberta, Canada
Speakers: Jim McClennan, Al Ritt, Derek Bird, April Vokey, Rick Hafele, Jeff Wagner and others speaking about fly fishing. This is a really big show with lots of speakers, vendors, fly tying demonstrations and more than 100 exhibitors.

Kentuckiana Fly Fishing Show 9th Annual

Location: Fern Valley Inn and Conference Center, Louisville, KY

Featured speaker is Davy Wotton. Davy Wotton's interest in fly fishing started in the 1950's when he watched his first trout caught by a fly fisherman. His professional career began in the early 1960s as a professional fly tier. Davy has developed and manufactured both fly tying and fly fishing products. Davy is a professional guide on the White River in Arkansas and one of the top experts on this river.
The one day event is focused strictly on fly fishing and the tools that allow us to pursue the sport. The show will introduce fly fishing to a beginner audience as well as offer expert instruction and information to the advanced fly fisher. The show includes over 40 exhibits. Casting demonstrations and seminars will be presented throughout the day. A number of folks will be also be demonstrating the craft of fly tying and they have the “kids corner” where children of all ages are welcome to tie a fly. http://www.kyflyshow.com/

2014 - Great Lakes Spey Fest

The Great Lakes Spey Shop, Rockford, MI has hosted this event for several years. The show features “Everything Spey” that you could want. The 2013 show featured presentations and demonstrations by:
Rick Whorwood, a FFF certified Two Handed Casting Instructor from Ontario, Canada. Kevin Feenstra is a Muskegon River fishing guide, fly designer and tyer, DVD video star. Pete Humphreys a FFF Certified Two Hand Casting Instructor. His program was about casting two handed rod set ups for Skagit, Scandi, and traditional lines. Gary Kalinka is the West Michigan “Godfather of the Long belly Line”. He demonstrated competition casting techniques (that means really, really long and perfect casts).
Rick Kustich, the author of “Fly Fishing for Great Lakes Steelhead”, and “Advanced Fly Fishing for Great Lakes Steelhead” discussed steelhead fishing in Great Lakes tributaries. http://www.greatlakesspeyshop.com
