DuPage River Summer Smallies

I received an alert from USGS website that my favorite section of the DuPage River's CFS was excellent. I took a ride out to see how the river looked and it was absolutely perfect. The river height, color, clarity and temperature was ideal. The weather was sunny and hot. I waded for about 4 hours downstream and walked the trail and bank back to my car. I used a Cotter Pin Streamer I tied and it slayed the smallies! I lost count after 2 dozen fish. They averaged 10"-12". Several in the 14"-16" range. I took one fish picture because he was the largest of the day. NIFTy member Jim Gould
